Understanding Addiction and Sharing Solutions
The Criminon Understand and Overcoming Addiction course teaches the student exactly what drugs are and the effects they have on the body and mind. It explains how and why one becomes addicted to drugs in the first place with the aim of empowering the student with knowledge to not fall back into the trap of addiction after leaving prison. Here are some successes from students who have completed this course.
I feel this course has given me good knowledge about the subject that I can take forward with me in my life. It has given me the ability to help others and to be able to provide facts and scientific evidence to those who may need it. While in custody it is always good to learn something new and this course has done exactly that. For me, the subject has caused me issues in life and I now feel when I am released I will be in a good place to never use or abuse drugs again.

Before this course I didn’t have a clue about what drugs do to you such as the symptoms they bring, or why people with a drug addiction constantly need their fix and how it ruins families. It has given me a new view on drug addiction, i.e. explaining to a family member. I have seen firsthand how drugs make me feel. Also, I gained great knowledge on drugs, sedatives, poisons and everything these do to you. Also, the objective exercises showed me you can better yourself by coming off drugs and I have a better understanding of how long it takes and what methods are there.

“The Understanding and Overcoming Addiction course is a brilliant way to understand the cycle and effects of drugs and addiction…”
The Understanding and Overcoming Addiction course is a brilliant way to understand the cycle and effects of drugs and addiction. It gave me an understanding of the reasons why someone would use drugs which leads them to addiction and can cause disastrous consequences.

Doing this course has helped me better understand how drugs affect me and others around me. I realized other people’s experiences are sometimes not too dissimilar from my own. I now feel better prepared to deal with being drug-free. I came off methadone while doing this course and it helped. I also feel confident in helping others to come off drugs in the future so thank you.
